A Brief Guide on Tapping Machines
Tapping Machines are heavy-duty industrial machines generally used to drill
or thread holes on a surface. These machines have a strong rigidity, high
precision and are made in such a way that they last longer.
Tapping Machines are used in several applications including heavy industries
and engineering. Tapping Machines are also used in Automobile, Naval and
Aerospace Industry.

The Process of Tapping Machine
The process of cutting a thread inside a hole so that a cap screw or bolt can be
threaded into the hole is called tapping.
Tapping process is started using a multi-cutting point called TAP, with the
help of collect drill chuck the Tap is held in the main spindle. The Spindle
gets its power from the motor by means of the V-Belt.
gets its power from the motor by means of the V-Belt.
As the power supply is given the spindle starts rotating in the anti-clockwise
direction, the component about to be tapped is aligned and placed accordingly
in the table. When tapping component is completed, loading is stopped and
the label assembly is brought down engaging upper cone with fiber cone then
the tap reverses, which finally completed the process.
Types of Tapping Machine
There are various types of Tapping Machines used for different purposes.
All the parts of Horizontal Tapping Threading Machines are hardened and
fitted properly for a long life. In order to prevent misshaping and tap
breakage limit switch mechanisms are provided for safety purposes.
These limit switches are easily adjustable with a stopper for increasing or
decreasing the limit of the thread.
The single spindle model has only one spindle whereas the double spindle
model has two spindles which increase the production by two times. Both the
models are specialist for HEX nuts. Both the Models have Go-No-Go
accuracy; it also helps in providing high production at a low cost.
A Micro lathe is used for shaping complex metal and other solid materials.
Micro Lathe is known for their high production and low maintenance. There
are many types of lathe machines that vary in size, capabilities, and application.
These lathes are majorly used by Locksmiths, Jewelers, Designers and
Engineers for different tasks. An Electric Motor powers the lathe and it is
used for turning metals like Iron, Aluminum, Copper and Titanium. It has a
collet system provided for better and fast production, and true chuck fitting is
also possible according to the requirements.
